A term is a period within the school calendar,with it's own lessons, competition and other extra curricular activities.

'The start of everything has a lot to say about it's conclusion'. Students therefore have the opportunity to improve on their performances the previous term as well as correct their past mistakes.

To succeed this academic session we have come up with these tips to help you.

• Review The Past Session : To improve your academic performance this term, review what happened the previous one. Discover the highs and lows as well as your strengths and weaknesses.For example, make two lists. First those subjects you excelled in and second those that you didn't meet up with. This way, you'll know which subject deserve more time and attention.

The things you achieved the previous term are evidence of just how efficient you can be and could be just the morale booster you need to achieve more.

• Set Your Goals For The New Session : Make a list of areas you wish to improve and also stipulate your route to achieving it. It could be improving your writing skills, spelling skills,punctuality or study habits. 

It is also at this point that you decide on which subjects you want to improve your grades while also writing out what you must do to achieve your aim.
List your goals in order of importance, remember first things first.

• Get Ready In Advance : Endeavour to get any item or material you'll need for the term before school work resumes.Your uniform, school bag,textbook and other stationary items should be in place .Encourage your parents to ready your fees during the holiday so you can return to school with it. This is to avoid any distractions when the ball is set rolling.

• Attend Classes and Submit Every Project : Your class attendance is of great essence to your quest for success as you'll only learn when you are present. Avoid any distractions in the middle of a lecture and always take time to ask questions when you are confused. If you can, study ahead so you can understand lessons better.

To get good grades, it's also pertinent that you tackle and submit class assignments promptly, by doing this, you'll avoid the teacher's wrath while also improving yourself.

• Make Personal Study A Routine : Your books should be your closest companion this term. Create a realistic study timetable and endeavour to stick to it. This way, no subject suffers and you remain on top of your game. 

• Determination and Persistence : This is always the backbone of any notable achievement. Resolve to follow through with the goals you have set for the term. The journey to achieving success may not be smooth but determination helps you conquer all difficulties. 

• Keep Track Of Your Goals : Review your goals from time to time during the term. Tick off anyone you achieve and also try to implement the same strategy on the ones you're still working on (if applicable). Take time to congratulate yourself on any achievement as it will give you confidence in your ability to achieve the others.
