What Parents Owe Their Children

What Parents Owe Their Children
The home is said to be the first place a child's education begins as almost every child is born into a home.
The parents of a child has a hefty task of leading, guiding and guarding their children towards being good and responsible citizens of a country.

Parents have these duties toward their child's education.

  • Provision Of Physical, Financial and Moral Support : Every child needs all these in order to thrive in life. It is therefore the duty of parents to provide food, clothing and shelter for their child which makes it easier for the child to go on with his secular education. Parents also provides the money to cater for the child's expenses such as school fees while also offering encouragement to their child from time to time. When parents fail to meet up with this requirement, the child's live is adversely affected as he finds it difficult to cope with life at school.

  • Parents Are To Set Good Example For Their Child : Children tend to copy what they see and not primarily what they are told. Hence, parents as obliged to live their life in the right way believing that their children are likely to follow suit. When parents do not have a good value system, it becomes more difficult for their product to live in accord with acceptable societal norms.
It is from the home that the child is expected to learn how to greet and show respect for the elders, the right way to dress as well as other good traits. When parents instill these traits, they are likely to stay with the child even when he grows up.

  • Parents Are To Monitor Their Child : Parents are encouraged to make their children their best friends. This makes it easier for them to track their child's progress or failure. They help the child to tackle some challenges that they face at school or the society at large.

Parents Know Their Children's Need

Parents monitor the type of friends their child keep and help them avoid the bad ones.

  • Parents Play With Their Children : Children deserve to spend quality time with their parents and not only to receive advice but also to play with them. You could eat together as a family or take sometime to visit a recreation park. This shows the child that he is valued and braces up the mind to improve at school

When parents are able to carry out these duties, they give the child the best platform to achieve success someday.
