Francisca thought about letting her parents in on her ordeal
but on a second thought decided to take it upon herself to figure out a way.
First, she met her friend Rose who was also very good at mathematics to assist her.
Even before Francisca could finish with her request, Rose agreed to help her get past her maths challenge. They agreed upon a suitable time and place to study which gladdened Francisca heart.
At first, it was a smooth sail but things began to get sour as the days went by.
Rose would turn the supposed tutorial classes into a ranting class whenever Francisca mentioned she was lost. Studying turned nagging and Francisca knew she wasn't getting anywhere close to what she wanted.

She had only two options left.
Would she continue to study hard without the guidance of anyone, knowing that there was a higher probability of not passing her exams?
Or
Would she have to meet Mr Newman and seek his assistance?
The second option seemed the more workable and easier way to pass her exams.
What if Mr Newman has changed? It has also been a little while since he made any advances.
Perhaps he may not be as bad as I thought?, Francisca muttered to herself as she struggled to decide. There are now only two weeks before the exam.
Just then, Mr Newman entered the classroom to make an announcement.
'Students who need help on any Maths activity can be a part of the Maths tutorial classes which will hold at the end of every school day.
Interested students can leave their names with the class prefect, Rose.
'Oh, that's the solution to my challenge and the answer to my prayers. At least I can get to study in the company of other students. He wouldn't have the chance to make any moves' Francisca said in a feint voice.
She never knew it was a plot as she hurriedly asked Rose to put down her name.
How everything played out would sway her.
We'll be back next week!
