Why Students Love Teachers - Students Speak

Prosper Manson Ezukwa Ochuba Mercy
Our teacher-student team initiative continues with two students from Anambra and Lagos States
respectively , discussing qualities a teacher should have, and what makes the learning experience more exciting.

Ochuba Mercy, an Ss2 student of Front-runner City College Eruwen, Ikorodu, Lagos State says she would love it if teachers are humble and give each student in class equal advantage.

When quizzed about her favorite teacher, she said

'I have a favourite teacher whose name is Miss Queen. She's a loving and considerate woman who goes to any extent to make sure her students comprehend what she is explaining to the class'.

'When I find a particular topic of a subject difficult , I appreciate it if the subject teacher responds positively ,not harshly, by being clear enough and calm to help me understand better'.

Ochuba Mercy also had few words of gratitude for teachers worldwide,

'TEACHERS where ever you are, I would love to tell you that I appreciate all the abundant love and care showered on us in order for us to be great someday'.
In conclusion , I'd like to say, may God strengthen and bountifully bless you all.

Another student sharing his thoughts was Prosper Manson Ezukwa an Ss3 student of Government Technical College Ihiala Anambra State.

Prosper said, I love teachers who

  • are a great example to others,
  • tolerate students character in order to bring out the best in them.
  • are ready to help students deal with their problems both at school and in the society.
  • have a cheerful heart to be able to discern when and which type of disciplinary measure to administer.
Proper love teachers who have these attributes.

On his favorite teacher, he said

My favorite teacher is Mr Ifechukwu Ochiagha. He is our Government teacher and I love him because he is kind to students and always seek to help us improve.

Facing some difficulty in any subject is an inevitable experience, so when it does happen

Prosper Manson Ezukwa says

'Since this can happen to anyone, I think I'll get better if the teacher can employ these two ways to help me,

  • Trying to make me their friend and not scolding me all the time
  • By trying to make me comfortable when teaching, because I can comprehend faster when in a relaxed mood.

In conclusion, he thanked teachers worldwide for the great effort and time they invest at getting students on the right path.

He said schooling has been a thrilling, educating and worthwhile experience.
