They explored difficult topics and were given assignments at the end of each class. She was perfectly comprehending every bit of it and to crown it all, Mr Newman has stopped making those immoral advances.
Her fears were further mitigated the day Mr Newman asked her to drop his lesson notes in his office after the tutorials. At first, she hesitated but had to after convincing herself that nothing would happen. Nothing did happen as Mr Newman only thanked her as she left the office.
Hmm! Everything seems to be falling in place and Francisca was cruising!
At last she could trust the new Mr Newman who was poised to help her get past her Maths challenge.
She never knew she had taken the bait !
It was after a class that Mr Newman sent her to do the now normal duty of dropping his lesson note in his office. Just as Francisca was about to leave the office, Mr Newman pulled her back and close to his body. She was really scared but knew exactly what to do once he attempted to kiss her. She slapped and kicked him hard and then ran out of the office screaming. Since school was over by then, no one would hear her scream.
She hurried to her friend Rose who had orchestrated the plot with Mr Newman and asked that they leave the school premises at once. She was already on her way home debunking Rose's claim that she still had work to do in school.
Rose pretended she never knew what happened on their way home as Francisca related the story of how Mr Newman attempted to kiss her.
To Francisca's utmost surprise, Rose was not in dissent of Mr Newman's advances. It was then that she related to Francisca the story of her affair with Mr Newman, explaining it was the reason why they were getting on good terms. She also mentioned that it was what almost every girl in class was doing.
'You must use what you have to get what you want' she concluded.
Francisca was really shocked at hearing this from a supposed friend. But she could now understand why things were going the way they were.
Her strong moral family background would not allow her do something wrong in order to pass her exams.
She made a firm decision on that day to take the bull by the horn. She would deal with her maths challenge alone. She would wake up at midnight to study for three hours while during the day, she would use her free time at school to study as well.
'No one knows it all', she said do herself.

Francisca was excited to receive her result at the conclusion of the exams.
She aced her other papers with an A1 with a B2 grade in Mathematics.
Yes! She had done it!
The goosebumps all over were as many as the challenges she had to overcome to achieve this result.
At school the next day, it was announced that Mr Newman has been sent packing from the school to the prison yard having been found guilty of impregnating an underaged student.
Rose was the victim!
Francisca knew she could have found herself in Rose's shoes if she hadn't made the right move at the right time.
Now she could rest knowing that she has aced her Maths exam without Mr Newman.
She won the challenge!
